As a research question, we consider the spatial expression of the educational phenomenon and its relationship with the improvement of the high school quality evaluation indicators. Its general objective was to analyze the spatial expression of the educational phenomenon based on the experience of the Programa de Avalição Seriada of Universidade de Brasília (PAS/UnB), with a view to identifying indicators for the evaluation of high school quality in the Distrito Federal. This trajectory was based on empirical conditions and educational practices for the quality of education in high school in the Distrito Federal, from PAS/UnB. This program completes a quarter of a century. On-site research was conducted in five schools in the set of institutions that presented the best performances in PAS/UnB. Semi-structured questionnaires were applied to this intentional sample of SEEDF principals, coordinators, secretaries, teachers and students in order to clarify their perceptions. The theoretical elaboration of the concept of educational quality is supported by Anísio Teixeira (1957) and John Dewey (1979), among others. In relation to the concept of spatial expression defined as the configuration of reasoning based on a given set of geographic information, it was supported by Milton Santos (1996) and Doreen Massey (2012), among others. Regarding the concept of indicators understood as translators of dimensions of reality captured based on measurable characteristics (with a view to apprehending reality), which enable the sophistication of empirical interpretation, especially when dealing with spatially localized information, and constitute quantitative resource for the evaluation aimed at social control, we support Paulo Jannuzzi (2002), Alicia Bonamino (2012) and Valdecir Soligo (2012), among others. Based on these references to meet the objectives of this study, we selected the following procedural methods: the monographic method (consisting of bibliographic analysis and document analysis), the historical method (based on data collection from primary sources) and the statistical method (treatment data analysis, application of statistical software - such as R software in version 3.4.1 and its wordcloud package for word cloud building, Minitab 15, Excel 2013 and simple linear regression models in pairs of variables -, analysis of results obtained through semi-structured questionnaires and spatial analysis). The research used the databases of the Instituto Nacional de Estudos e PesquisasEducacionais Anísio Teixeira (Inep), of the Secretaria de Estado de Educação do Distrito Federal (SEEDF), of the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisa em Avaliação e Seleção e de Promoção de Eventos (Cebraspe), of the CODEPLAN and from the Universidade de Brasília (UnB). The results reveal important findings for the debate concerning the improvement of high school quality evaluation indicators and the contributions of considering spatial expression in this process that directly affects social control, planning and management of education. The spatial dimension was pointed as a priority for the development of critical thinking, scientific spirit, the exploration of new methodologies more active for teaching, the achievement of greater interactions between students, student engagement and school projects. spatial expression contributes to the improvement of the construction of high school quality evaluation indicators.
